Welcome to KaptureCon! We strive to provide a fun, safe, and respectful environment for all attendees. By attending KaptureCon, you agree to abide by the following rules and policies. The following are the terms of use that govern your use of KaptureCon’s site and applications. By accessing our website or attending any of our events, you agree to comply with these terms and conditions.
We have the right to make changes to these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes that we make will be in effect the moment we post the revised version on the website.
1. Code of Conduct
To ensure that everyone has a positive experience, we ask all attendees to follow these guidelines:
- Respect Others: Treat all attendees, staff, volunteers, and guests with respect. Harassment, discrimination, or any form of inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
- Cosplay & Attire: Costumes and cosplay are welcome, but they must be appropriate for all audiences. Clothing and costumes that are offensive, excessively revealing, or contain inappropriate language or imagery are prohibited.
- Photography and Recording: Please ask for permission before taking photos or videos of other attendees. If an individual or guest requests no photos, respect their wishes.
- Be Mindful: Be mindful of your noise levels and mindful of your surroundings.
KaptureCon is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. Harassment, discrimination, or any form of rude or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Attendees must follow instructions of staff and security at all times. Anyone violating these rules may be removed from the event without a refund.
2. Ticketing and Registration
- Convention Ticket Purchase: Tickets are non-refundable but transfers are allowed. If a ticket transfer is needed, please contact KaptureCon via email at hello@kapturecon.com with all necessary information. Please verify and double check before purchasing all tickets.
- Convention Ticket Access: If you lose access to your convention ticket, please contact KaptureCon support via email at hello@kapturecon.com immediately. We may require proof of identity and ticket purchase to resolve the issue.
- Concert Ticket Purchase: For all tickets purchased through TicketMaster, if there are any questions or concerns, please contact TicketMaster support immediately.
- Concert Ticket Access: If you lose access to your concert ticket, please contact TicketMaster support immediately.
- Minors: Children aged 12 or under must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children aged 13 -17 do not require parent supervision but parents are highly encouraged to accompany their children. Parents/guardians are responsible for their children’s behavior and safety.
- Third Party Sales: There may be third party websites and social media postings that offer the unauthorized sale of various event tickets - PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF SCAMMERS AND COUNTERFEIT TICKETS! We strongly discourage the purchase of tickets from any third party. The ticket will be confiscated if found in possession of a counterfeit ticket, and you will not be allowed to enter the KaptureCon area without exception. We are not liable for the actions of a third party.
3. Safety and Security
- Bag Checks:
- Bags that measure no larger than 12″ x 12″ x 6″ are permitted. Backpacks are not permitted. All parcels and bags being brought into The National Press Club are subject to inspection. All bags, backpacks, and purses are subject to search at entry points for safety reasons. Please cooperate with security staff.
- Emergency Procedures: Familiarize yourself with the venue's emergency exits and procedures. In case of an emergency, follow instructions from staff and security personnel.
- Prohibited Items: The following items are not allowed on the premises:
- Weapons of any kind, including mace, pepper spray, knives, sharp objects, bats, clubs, tasers, etc.
- Bags larger than 12″ x 12″ x 6″ and backpacks of all sizes are prohibited
- Professional camera equipment (e.g., detachable lens; lens greater than 3”; external flash; monopods; bipods; tripods; etc.)
- Laser pointers or flashlights
- Illegal drugs/substances
- Outside alcohol
- Fireworks, missile-like objects, Frisbees, and any other form of projectiles
- Outside food and beverages (excluding water bottles for the convention)
- Lost and Found: Please report any lost items to the KaptureCon Lost and Found area by our registration table. Unclaimed items will be disposed of after the event.
4. Behavior and Enforcement
- Disruptive Behavior: Any behavior that disrupts the convention, such as excessive loudness, fighting, or interference with events, is prohibited. Offenders will be asked to leave the premises without a refund.
- Harassment: Harassment, including verbal, physical, or sexual harassment, will not be tolerated. It will result in immediate removal. If you experience harassment or see someone else being harassed, please report it to staff immediately.
- Staff Authority: KaptureCon staff and volunteers have the authority to remove individuals from the event for violating the rules or engaging in inappropriate behavior. Failure to comply with staff instructions may result in further action.
5. Autographs and Guest Interaction
- Guest Lines: Please follow the instructions for autographs, photo ops, and meet-and-greet events. Do not push or cut in line.
- Respect Boundaries: If a guest, performer, or staff member requests privacy or wishes to end an interaction, please respect their space.
- No Autograph Reselling: Autographed items are for personal use only. Selling or attempting to resell autographed items is strictly prohibited. If you are caught reselling items on any platform, you will not be allowed to attend any future KaptureCon events.
6. Food and Beverages
- Food and Drink Policy: Outside food and beverages are not allowed unless specified by the venue or event organizers.
7. Photography and Videography
- Professional Photography: If you are a professional photographer or videographer, you must register with KaptureCon to obtain permission for filming or taking photographs in the convention areas.
- Consent for Photos: By attending KaptureCon, you consent to being photographed and recorded for promotional and marketing purposes. If you do not wish to be included in photographs or videos, please notify the photographer or videographer.
8. Health and Safety Protocols
- COVID-19 Guidelines (if applicable): KaptureCon will follow all local and national health guidelines for the safety of all attendees. Masks, vaccinations, or other health measures may be required depending on local regulations at the time of the event.
- Personal Health: If you are feeling unwell, have symptoms of an illness, or have been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with a contagious disease, please stay home and refrain from attending the event.
All attendees must adhere to any health and safety guidelines set by KaptureCon, including but not limited to mask-wearing, social distancing, or providing proof of vaccination if required by the venue or public health authorities. In the event of a medical emergency, attendees should immediately notify a staff member. KaptureCon is not responsible for any medical treatment or related expenses incurred during the event.
9. Privacy and Data Use
- Personal Information: Your personal data, including registration details, may be collected and used to manage your ticket purchase, event registration, and communication from KaptureCon. For more information on how we handle your data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
- Photography and Media Release: By attending the event, you consent to the use of your image, likeness, and voice in promotional materials or media coverage of KaptureCon.
10. Disclaimer
- Liability: KaptureCon and its partners are not liable for personal injury, lost or stolen property, or any damages occurring during the event. Attendees are responsible for their own safety and belongings.
- Event Changes: KaptureCon reserves the right to modify event schedules, guest appearances, or any other aspect of the event without prior notice. In the case of a full event cancellation, refunds may be offered.
